How personal do you personalize your desktop background? Do you have a peronal photo on your desktop or do you just go with the generic the computer comes with?

Ummmm .. my desktop - - - cant really see much of it as not the tidiest person in the world, not my fault, the house is tiny. The walls are covered with photos, paintings. stuff is piled up everywhere. Dusting could not be done without disturbing stuff, which is not important I read an article that said dust stops growing after a certain time .. works for me - - :up

I use one of my pictures and change it quite often. It must have a good clear area towards the top so that desk top icons are clearly visible.

This is my current one, it reminds me of an enjoyable trip to Istanbul a couple of years ago.

I'm not sure 'how' I happened to get one of my pictures onto my desktop but I did until that time Iwent with the desktop that came with my laptop. Thankfully the picture that got on there has lots of clear space :) so I can see my icons. I hardly ever put an icon on the desktop other than the few big ones I use all the time.

I did see in the office all manner of desktop computer screens - some where goldfish bowls, some endless pipes, pictures of kids, family, some flying through asteroids. Always kinda amused me how personalized we made our laptops and how we personalize any device that can carry a picture.

Wonder if this is our way of relating to technology? Trying to make it ours and relate to it.

I have to confess that some years ago now I worked with a young lady that had one of those little doggy type screen savers and if you used your mouse to stroke it the puppy would respond by being happy and healthy as it played around. She could never figure out why with all the care she lavished daily upon the little doggy, that it continued to look small and sad.
Little did she know that every time she left her PC I would use the mouse to prod and poke the dog.

Actually a friend gave me a Zoo game. It was SOOO boring - the only interesting bit was getting the runs full and then deleting the fences and watching guests and animals all get killed - - the keepers always lasted the longest - -

I've not long returned from Istanbul and loved it!
When I have time (which is next to never) I may try and write a travelogue about it. I think it is one of my most favourite places I have visited.

Love you desktop photo LisaK and I also like BKs. Am thinking I like the idea of posting travel pictures to your desktop. What a great way to keep those travel memories alive.

Heh LLL, that's MY desktop  Well at the moment but I change it often to remind me of places that I want to return to. :)

I think we will also go back to Istanbul sometime Lisa. A great mix of ancient and modern.....and a brilliant tram system :) Did you take the local boat up the Bosphorus to Anadolu Kavagi on the Black Sea. A great day out if the weather is fine.

Been sorting through some of my photos but not really finding too many that are light coloured and have big areas of calm in the picture so I can drag my icons there to see them.

Not too sure about having a face on the desktop - kinda disrespectful to be clicking on somebody's nose.

For next trip I'm going to try and take a few photos with lots of SKY. I think I've found the key which is to find sky.
