So the latest scientific breakthrough is that they have managed to create a new mutation of the H5N1 bird flue virus in the lab, that instead of being spread by physical contact, it can now be spread by being airborne!
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????????????
Just why does anyone have to create another monster virus that could kill millions if it ever got out?
Especially when you think of all the nutters that are in positions of power, not to mention lunatic terrorist organisations in the world. Once these research papers get published anyone with an agenda could use this information to create a weapon of mass destruction, so why do it in the first place?
The latest information coming out of America is that they will either ban the publication or seriously edit the published version, but when has that ever worked? Someone somewhere either leaks it or steals the data. I remember some years ago now when the W.H.O.(no, not the pop group ) announced that they had for the first time in human history eradicated a disease, that disease was Smallpox. They had scoured the world to find any cases of infection and found none, it was therefore deemed to be eradicated. “Wonderful” I hear you say, “one less killer in the world”, so we all sat back and countries no longer vaccinate people against this terrible disease as it is no longer necessary to do so.
However, it is not eradicated, small samples are still kept by UK, Russia & America, for research purposes!
Oh yea, similar to the Japanese killing Whales for research purposes I suppose? No intentions of actually eating them? So now we have a world full of unvaccinated people that would go down like flies if this were ever to surface again, possibly intentionally? But not to worry, I have had my vaccination against this a long time ago so I should be OK, not so sure about the H5N1 virus though.

Oh dear Kiya, you are in the wars try putting a cold teabag on the sty, that sometimes helps. Lots of people are going down with all sorts of seasonal things from colds to gippy tummies, it sounds to me like you are a bit run down so I recommend a few 'Nippy Sweeties' as my old Scottish mates would say. For anyone that doesn’t know, that would be a Drambuie liqueur mixed with a shot of Scotch Whiskey absolutely divine and extremely health giving in my opinion. It cures everything from Rickets to Snake Bite and I am the living proof of that as I don’t have Rickets and have never yet been bitten by a snake.
Hope you feel better soon.
PS. You can also set fire to it and then drink them as a bet whilst still alight, hence my lack of eyebrows.

I've never heard of 'nippy sweets' either but I totally concur with H - 'why oh why???????' are we making new strains of viruses and whatever that can wipeout human kind AND not only do we create these we then publish them all over the place so that anybody can re-create this.
My daughter called me this past weekend asking me if she had been immunized against measles? She was but I had to ask 'why the question?'
She is a teacher in the Province of Quebec/Canada and apparently in 1970 the Quebec government decided they didn't need to immunize anybody for measles anymore.........thus.........there is a huge outbreak and kids and teachers are dropping. There is an immediate requirement that ALL teacher now get immunized and if they refuse and come down with measles they are not allowed to use any of their sick time (where they'd get paid to have time off when ill). We're from a different part of Canada that always carried on giving measles vaccines so am sure my daughter is good.
@kiya - awhile ago I thought I had a stye. Turns out, when I went to the doctor, I had a "Chalazion" which is a plugging up of a tiny gland on the eyelids. Apparently as we get "OLDER" we often get these tiny glands plugged up which causes these stye like/chalazion. The best cure is to put warm clothes across your eyes all the time. What is apparently secreted is a sebaceous type matter and keeping it warm helps to keep it lubricated and will help the "lump" go away.
I don't know if stye and Chalazion are interchangeable. I think a stye is part of a staph infection. I thought I had a stye however the docs said 'nope' and told me all about having a chalazion. Might be worth a proper diagnoses by a doctor cause if it is the chalazion then you need to be always doing this hot compress thingy.
This is a cut and paste from a medical dictionary online:
chalazion - a small sebaceous cyst of the eyelid resulting when a Meibomian gland is blocked
Meibomian cyst
pilar cyst, sebaceous cyst, steatocystoma, wen - a common cyst of the skin; filled with fatty matter (sebum) that is secreted by a sebaceous gland that has been blocked

Just caught the TV News here AND seems a man in China has been confirmed to have the avian flu! Am impressed that a single diagnoses now makes national news. Wonderful if he has the 'real' avian flu or if he has a created avian flu or an airborne avian flu.......
Am going to teach my chickens to cover their beaks with their wings when they cough.......
