Another good series from the BBC called 'Gentleman Jack' started tonight on BBC 1 at 9 pm and if you missed it no doubt I-Player will have it on, or if your like me you may wait a few episodes then have a binge session.
It looks like another very good period drama set in Yorkshire with a very good 'Oop North' feel to it, so Grandad will enjoy it. A bit unusual as the leading character is obviously a lesbian, but it looks as if that is being treated lightly on the sexual front and allows the main character to be tough in what was then a mans world. Her plans so far are to get married (to a woman) but be a tough cookie running her estate, she shows two sides to her nature, a soft side and a hard headed one, looks like it may be a good series and worth a look.

@Horus
I watched episode one tonight H and agree with you. It has the makings of a compelling series. Always liked Suranne Jones from her Coronation street days and from the start, she is giving a sterling performance in Gentleman Jack.

I will leave that one for you gentlemen then! I'm heartily fed up with costume dramas.

My wife shares your view RS. She didn't watch Victoria and could not be bothered with Gentleman Jack. I watch them avidly.

Re: Gentleman Jack
I love watching anything with period costumes and historic locations, the series Versailles was a good example
