Iran Election
So Mahmoud Ahmenadinijad is gone and now Rouhani is in. Cleric, somehow affiliated with nuclear. Don't know much else about him but can't help but wonder if this will give Iran and more positive world presence or not....???

Re: Iran Election
Hopefully this will prove to be a good choice for Irans future relationship with the wider world. The initial soundings are positive...BUT....Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei is still the most powerful man in Iran and his views may well conflict with those of the new president.
Wait and see what happens I suppose.........

Re: Iran Election
My thoughs exactly, we have to remember that all the candidates were chosen by the existing regime, so I am still highly sceptical that this may just be another way of putting a better gloss on how they are perceived by the West, the same people are still in power.
