But you did very well with using them as I recall Kiya ;) you produced some very credible results during our Photoshop/Gimp tutorial sessions :up

I remember them well and have them all printed. :up

And Kiya, I love layers. You can have so much fun with them but, IMO, you need a PC. I can't imagine trying to manipulate layers on a tablet or even a laptop.

A bit like photography Grandad, anyone can take a photo on a mobile phone, but for real images you need a proper camera. ;)

Don't remind me Horus, my trusty EOS 500 that the crew called Baby as I always had it with me is waiting for me in Luxor. I much prefer proper film. :(

On a lighter note, sometimes I joined a group of passengers taking photos before or after the flight back in the day and lenses would be changed with sly looks at what other people had - the lenses got longer in the competition then I brought mine out! It's the competitor in me, I can't resist. ;)

I do agree H. Although mobile phone cameras are now excellent they can never compete with a proper camera. My recently acquired inexpensive Lumix bridge camera has a 20 - 1200mm zoom 60x. A grandsons girlfriend who is planning to get a 'proper camera' asked if she could try my new one. These are untouched pictures she took of our visiting cat, hiding under bushes, at the extremes of the zoom range from the same standpoint.

I doubt if a camera phone will ever be able to do that. ;)

Horus I believe I did mention but can't find the post.
This was before the cataract op and I remember saying something like ' What does a bloke with one duff eye and one that can't read a car number plate do? Answer: Buy a camera.'
Having disposed of everything except the Fuji X10, I was missing a long lens. This Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82 came up on QVC with a deal that after cashback was £220. It is wifi and has a screen like a mobile phone with two finger zoom and flick through images. Although I have said I have difficulty with electronic viewfinders, this one is as near 'real' as I have seen. So I am happy to have a capable zoom once again. :up
