Testing my new camera

Post by Horus »

I was out with little Annie on Monday as it was a really sunny day and the best weather we have had for a couple of weeks, because my mate came with us he was able to look after Annie while I had a few practice shots with the new camera. I will post a few more in this thread in the next day or two, but just wanted you to see the quality of the zoom, I took the close up of the castle from where I was standing to take this pano shot across the valley, it is the bit inside of the red circle, not bad for a handheld shot I reckon.

Most impressive H. Must have been a fast shutter with no signs of camera shake :up

Grandad, it uses some clever 'Phase shifting' technology to eliminate camera shake. :up

Is phase shifting the same as vibration reduction or is it something radically different? Using the word radically to mean significantly different. Sometimes different words are the same thing.

I should have said Phase 'Detection' to be correct LLL  Don't ask me to explain it all here as it's quite technical, but basically it compares two images of the same shot to decide what is in focus and what is not.

Ahhh so that is really different from Vibration reduction. Interesting.......and something I'm going to remember (IF I ever get a new camera)....but that is quite an interesting feature.
