A few Macro pictures

Post by Horus »

I was out in the garden on Monday as it was quite sunny where I live, a dwarf Willow was starting to flower so I took a few pictures of the pollen laden flowers and some insects on them.

This is a close up of the flower and they are really quite small.
Image

Even closer view of the pollen held in tiny capsules seen here as closed, some are just bursting and some are fully open spilling out yellow pollen grains.
Image

A Ladybird wandering among the pollen grains and getting covered in it.

A small fly sitting on an un-opened flower.

I just threw this in as it looked quite nice. :)

They really are very good H. :)

Is that with the built-in macro or supplementary lenses? My DX lenses don't have macro so I need screw-ons, I have just a +4 but have never yet used it...

Grandad, I took all of these using a Raynox lens attached to a normal wide angle lens. You cannot use them in conjunction with a Macro setting as the way that they work is to use the camera's zoom feature to set the focus. :D
If you want a better explanation I can write one up. :)
