As photo threads usually get a bit of interest going, I thought that maybe it would be a good idea if we had one where we could post a picture we had recently taken rather than from our archives. At some time or another most of us take a picture that we like for some reason or another, so this would be a place to share it. Any subject will qualify, just so long as you yourself like it and tell us why you do.

To start us off I have posted this picture of some silhouetted trees that I took this afternoon as I thought they looked quite dramatic against the darkening mid-winter skies.

Dramatic and slightly eerie - love it. Good idea for a thread - might have to consider some 'indoor' shots for the time being as it's dark when I go to work and dark soon after I get home.

OK, still on the subject of trees, this is another that I took today, but I gave the sky a bit more drama, hopefully it will look more brooding. I saw the gnarled dead old tree and thought that with a more dramatic sky it may look good, so I took the basic photo and added a tint to the top portion of the sky.

Ohhhhhhh H - EXCELLENT! I like this tree better than the first! It really has an eerie, ghostly, dark, dead of the night feel to it!

My only recent ones are of family at Christmas and as it is grey and raining just now, today is out.

No excuses Grandad, it was grey and dull yesterday when I went out, but the sun smiled on me for about 15 minutes,

in fact, all the time that I was in the long queue at the petrol pumps trying to fill up prior to it going up in price yet again.

I'm really not sure if this photo will upload, been having lots of problems with computer, I wasn't intending to take photos on Xmas but temptation got the better of me, I saw 3 rainbows in this 1 but the 3rd rainbow is very faded.

Now Jojo, you have not been following the picture threads.

Kiya often posts pictures of the changing scene from her window across the north sea and a bench on the grass above the rocky beach usually features. I found it on Google earth so here you are, this is Kiyas Bench.

PS: I still have nothing to add here, bit brighter today so, who knows.....

Nice picture Kiya, the sea and the shore seem to blend together with the snow and the foam.
