Thank you all :) @ Grandad I'm still a bit iffy working with Layers, I couldnt have done the stained glass pic without guidance from Horus :D

I tried to do it in E7 but it hasn't all the layer styles etc so did it with the other program I have CSR3 which I haven't worked in before, as you see with the pic I managed my way around :)

As using layers is very important, I have done this example to show how an original picture can be used as a basis for creating something 'Arty'

Way cool H. Maybe this fall you can hold a class online on E4U about making layers?? I'd love a class in this! Am sure many others would too!

As I have said previously LLL, if people are interested we could have a tutorial type thread. :)

@BB - I think I'm always partical to anything in a shade of brown from coppers through to tan which is why #2 holds more appeal to me. Both are good though.......

I have nothing to contribute to this thread so have not looked in lately.....

WOW! Kiya, your last submission is stunning :) :) :)

Perhaps I will have a go at one. Do you have your tutorial notes available to a larger class Horus, if so I would appreciate a copy. I only have PSE7 and PSP2 but I am sure I can find something to near enough replicate the process that you have shown Kiya, and I get on OK with layers now.

Thanks in anticipation :)

My latest attempt, I really had to cut this 1 down in size to upload here.

Grandad I'm doing it in PSHOP CS3, not sure, but, I would think its much the same as your PSP2

What are you lot like, I did offer to do an online tutorial for any of you guys that wanted to learn the technique. :)

But not to worry, :D I will dig out my emails to Kiya and just modify them a little for you Grandad. :) However just to to get started lets have a look to see if your program has the options and features that I have been using to make the Stained Glass. If you have then it is quite easy to do, but we will take it in small steps that you can follow.

• To check if you have the same features in your own program, first of all open up any picture in Photoshop

• Now have a look at the top of the main program window and see if you have the following options: File, Image, Layer, Select, Filter, View, Window & Help

• If you do, click on the option: Filter and see if you have any of the following choices: Artistic, Blur, Brush Strokes, Distort, Noise, Pixelate, Render, Sharpen, Sketch, Stylize, Texture, Video, Other.

Once you have checked this out let me know and we can hopefully proceed with the tutorial.

I don’t think that PSP X2 has the features to follow the method that I gave to Kiya though :(

Horus, in PSE7 I have all of the above mentioned headings plus Edit (after File) and Enhance (after Image) :) Enhance includes all sorts of tweaks like colour, lighting, sharpness etc.

Under filter I get a drop down for all the above EXCEPT sharpness which is available under Enhance.

Hope this is not putting you to too much trouble but I am sure that, like all good teachers, you never throw away any tutorial notes. :)

At first I didn't think this was something that would interest me but now that I have been inspired I have some ideas to try out. :)

Grandad I found the same as you have above but couldn't find "Layers Style" & tweaking we have to do with that which Horus gives in tutorial, if you do find a way of following Horus' tutorial in PSE7 be sure to let me know.

I could ask a friend of my sons' if he could copy the program PS CSR3 for you to CD, it is a copy I have so hopefully it can be done.

No problem Grandad ;) It looks like you will have everything required so I will start sending you some tutorial information, however I seem to have lost your email address, so you will need to PM it to me, :) unless you want to do it online?
