Both Mrs G and myself had eye appointments this afternoon and the dilation is jus beginning to wear off so I can get back to posting.
This is a short video from Friday morning when I explored around the back (north side) of the Cathedral. There is a short walk allong the north side to the cloister and then on to Kings School.
I did actually ride around the Quad of the school but decided not to post it.

It was the sound that moved me, first the girls natural and unaffected laughter and chat then the boys less ebullient and calm and it made me think of all the previous voices. I felt quite emotional. Thank you Grandad. :up

MD, following this video I went back to the cloister and went all round. That is a place where you can really imagine the monks walking and talking through the ages.
Kings claims to be the oldest school in the country with links back to 597. It officially became Kings in 1541 by decree of Henry VIII. It only opened its doors to sixth form girls in the 1970's. They have an illustrious alumni over the ages and already some of the recent alumnae are making a name for themselves.

When I went out last Friday I ended up with 21 minutes of video. I will just post this piece around the cloister and I promise I have dumped the rest. Might just do a bit inside the Cathedral when the access doors are available ;)

I know we tend not to talk politics here but Brexit, is that political? I think not.
I listened to Theresa May, reporting back following the meeting of all EU leaders in Salzburg, and as one who voted to leave the EU, this thought enterred my mind.
The referendum in June 2016 asked a simple question, stay or leave?
I am now questioning whether things have been done back to front and that the negotiations and terms of leaving the EU should have been presented as the basis of the referendum.
I think very few people would have anticipated the complexity of a leaving agreement, least of all the Northern Ireland border. I really cannot see any solution to this problem acceptable to all parties concerned. The UK, the EU and of course the island of Ireland.
I have not changed my mind that we should leave but a 'No Deal' ending seems more and more likely and I cannot accept that with all the problems that would follow. A falling economy, difficult foreign trade, a hard Northern Ireland border.
I think the Northern Ireland border is the biggest sticking point but in my simple mind, if we have an open border at present why can we not continue to have an open border???? What am I missing?
