Medical Care

Post by Lostintranslation »

Hiya

Two questions guys..

1) I need a dentist and I'm bad enough with them in the UK let alone an Egyptian one :-( any suggestions anyone? (Live in Rehab but am willing to travel for peace of mind!)

2) Have decided to re-start my prenatal care with a Dr. at Cleopatra hosp as advised by a couple of expats and a local friend of mine who says that hosp is quite popular with the expat community. Does anyone have any experience of or know of a better solution? (first preg so am clueless n cant go back to UK for birth and is not an option at all before anyone asks!) Anyone heard of Al Nada? I have heard of but that's about it.

Thanks in advance x

Al Nada is in our neighborhood. I've read mixed reviews of it, although mostly positive. It might be a bit far to get to from Rehab though. This bog has a good account of a delivery there:

Sorry LIT

I am the other side of Cairo to you.

The Al Salam in Ma'adi has a good name and is used by the ex pats. That's closer to you than the DAF.

DAF = Dar El Fouad.

Probably not much of a bother now - but would distance not be a problem later on?

If you click on the reservations at the top of the page besides events and news,
http://www.daralfouad.org/opd.html you can see the doctors and their schedules for Out Patients and book an appointment and they e mail you back with confirmation.

It's quite a way from you in Rehab, but it is an excellent hospital and if you take the Ring Road and the new ring road extension bypass, or the Mehwar, out to 6th October the hospital is sitting on the Mehwar about 5 mins drive from Hyper One Hypermarket. It's right beside the Novotel Hotel. You can't miss it. It also has it's own ambulance and I think it has it's own air ambulance as well.
