US Air Strike killing Qassem Soleimani
Strangely Canadian News Media is reporting this but nobody is offering much of an opinion unlike the US News media that is all over the place ranging from this terrific to the worst possible thing that could have ever happened. There are Media people (movie star types who think people care about the...

Re: What's the weather like where you are?
Huge storms that have caused most of the Ferries to stop sailing. Super high winds. It is 4:30am here now. I got woke up about half an hour ago by something crashing across the backyard (probably one of the lawn chairs got blown over) and setting the motion sensor lights off.

Re: Australia Fires
I was talking on FB to the Cousin in Australia a few hours ago and she sent this photo taken on January 1st from her living room window. Fires are getting close(r). 81553441_578056999408086_8523497426525356032_n.jpg She said earlier she is packed and ready to leave soon as word comes out and she is ...

Re: Australia Fires
I have cousins there and so far whilst they're noting and complaining about the fires they haven't been evacuated. The other relatives are in Darwin (north) and are actually on extended visits right now in the UK visiting the relatives. I did hear one commentator say on TV that the Fires in Australi...

Australia Fires
Have been watching for some weeks now the wildfires blaze away in Australia. Saddens me to read about the Koala bears who are now termed via the News "functionally extinct. I also believe they have very specific diets so it isn't like they can be just put anywhere. This says nothing for all the...

Geez RS definitely hope there is no pain and all can be fixed quickly and easily. YIKES!!! sure doesn't sound good and hope this isn't an ominous start to 2020. Mid-January I finally get my back tooth that I had to have a bone graft for. It is being made now and will be re-inserted permanently now t...

Re: ANECDOTES FROM MY FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH
I think finding out all the tidbits of a families history are more than intriguing. I have done a little bit of research on mine and found that my own Maternal Grandfather who I was always told just "disappeared" was actually a car mechanic who had remarried and had 5 more children lived a...

Re: Forget Resolutions what are you looking forward to this year?
Pre-Christmas I went, of an afternoon, to the "Tsawalk" Learning Center which is basically a Conference type venture developed between the Aboriginal Center and the Metis Women as they were putting on a workshop re: beading ornaments. Bit of info in quickie Readers Digest form: When Europe...

Re: What's the weather like where you are?
Yesterday Environment Canada put out huge warnings that we were to get an enormous storm last night that could bring significant loss of hydro so have candles etc handy. Around 3pm it started to snow and when I went to bed last night the snow was sticking and I definitely was hoping not to wake up t...

Re: So, What's Occurring????
Grandad That is a pretty decent weight loss. Good on you for losing it slowly too as when you lose fast IMO the weight sometimes rebounds. Dropping weight does help with diabetes and high blood pressure too. Christmas here was kinda busy and kinda not. Didn't help that I entered the festive season ...

I've gone to a Beading session with the Metis women at Tsa'Walk. It is learning oral traditions of beading. Will be going again in two more weeks for an afternoon. As an aside the food there is traditional and delicious.

Re: What's the weather like where you are?
No sun no rain and mostly importantly no snow. Saw swans out back yesterday but so far this morning I can't find them. Hopefully they're here to stay and not just passing through. If the sun was to come out I'd be enticed to go for a walk to see if I could see them but if the weather stays as is I d...

Re: What's the weather like where you are?
No rain today and the sun was actually out but later in the day it got overcast and somewhat foggy. We had a frost sufficient to kill off the plants but so far I haven't felt inspired to get out there and clean up anything. Maybe soon but for some reason I'm just not overly inspired. Finished knitti...
