Re: One Day More

Thanks for sharing. I saw it online last night and had a right old chuckle. For all the negative points, the internet is really bringing people together. People around the world sharing their musical talents, humour, recipes and lifestyle tips, art and crafts for adults and children - the list goes ...

Popping in..

As few of you pop over to the mother ship - Luxor4U - these days, or if you do you just view and not comment, I thought I'd pop over here to say hello. These are strange and difficult days we are facing, no matter where we live. In the old days we would have all been in regular contact and supporte...

Re: Suggestions please

Grandad, if you wear shorts, especially wide leg ones, you do also need to add some to the bottom hem. Prevention is better than the cure. :a80: :a2: :a21:

Re: Suggestions please

I'm undoubtedly a hoarder of Useful Boxes but Pringles sturdy tubes were OK for a few tools and pens but supply outstripped the demand. I have a sack full. Now I shall ask the nearest play group and the infants school if they would like them for their projects. Thank you. My daughter can't b...

Re: Suggestions please

I've just 'Popped' in to say hello. A few ideas instantly spring to mind: Dangle some from your summer hat - Aussie outback style. If you use wire garden supports, stick some to the top of the wires to help protect human or animals that might end up being accidentally speared by them. Glue a load to...

So good to see you back on line.
I think you are going to have lots of fun and games with wee Annie - she looks a very cute little bundle indeed.
Big hugs for you both. :)

Re: A MESSAGE TO MY FORUM FRIENDS

Horus, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. My condolences to you and your family at this time.
There is nothing any of us can really say, but you can be sure that you have a network of 4U cyber friends who are upholding you with their love and thoughts at this dreadful time.
Big hugs, Hepzi.

Re: These Foolish Things by Deborah Moggach

I've now watched the film and enjoyed it (except for the fact that I really don't like Bill Nighy and would not have cast him in that part). However, there is (to my memory) quite a bit missing - both at the begining and the end. Unfortuantely, I don't have my copy of the book to hand to refresh my ...

Re: These Foolish Things by Deborah Moggach

mcmaya, I have just started watching the DVD of Marigold Hotel and stopped it to post this quite early. Just from the way the characters have been introduced I can see it is quite different to the book. That being so their endings in the film are going to be very different to those in the book I am ...

Re: These Foolish Things by Deborah Moggach

I'm one step closer to seeing the film and having my memory jogged! Bought the DVD on impulse at the supermarket today (never feels right to see a DVD there among my groceries!). I'll no doubt be watching it in the next few days - although there area still a few Christmas films coming up on TV that ...

Re: These Foolish Things by Deborah Moggach

Can somebody help me and say how the book ends? Thank you in advance! Hi again mcmaya, I have asked Hepzibah if she will drop ...

Re: How good is your colour vision?

I know my actual vision is deteriorating so maybe I just need people to write in coloured latters for me to be able to see clearer instead of buying new specs! Or even in coloured letters Hepzi   Good result otherwise :up and it looks as if you were trying to upload something other than a...

Re: What are you reading at the moment?

I'm currently in the middle of Cinnamon City by Miranda Innes . I'm enjoying it so much. Lisak sent it to me to read before I went to Morocco at the beginning of the month, as she knew it was on my to read list. I ran out of reading time before I went but managed to get it started this weekend. In f...

Re: What puts you off of reading a book?

I'm put off books that are 'over hyped'.

Since I've got the kindle I find I've been downloading loads of free books - they do about 10 free ones promoted on Facebook each day - and many of those are definately not books that I would have bought or even borrowed from the library.
