Re: All seems to have turned out OK
He went back to the hospital this morning and they have fitted an adjustable splint - at the moment he can bend his knee to 60 degrees, they'll adjust it next time so he can bend his knee up to 90 degrees.

No he took it off himself before the flight - but didn't have it strapped up again until the hospital late on Friday or was it on the second visit on Saturday.

Re: All seems to have turned out OK
No one will be able to say if he had it whilst in Luxor, after the 10 hr drive to Cairo, the 5 hour flight or the 7 hour drive 'up north' - although on that leg of the journey he did get out at 3 service stations to walk about.

Re: Hope your feeling better
Oh no Horus, Warfarin is still widely and effectively used today to help regulate blood flow. With regards to cholesterol the most advanced drug, and available through the NHS, thanks to N.I.C.E., is a drug called Lipitor by Pfizer, most group practices will not inform its patients due to its cost,...

Re: Info for L4U Users
Sorry if my message on the blue side gave the impression he was still in hospital - he went in late Friday and was out the following day. The server is having problems and the engineers are working on it. Hopefully everything will be back to normal later this evening. If I hear anything else I'll le...

Spoke to Keefy earlier - his blood pressure is down a lot but still on the higher side of normal. 4 days without a ciggie and still doing small walks. He's still doing a lot of resting but all the power cuts aren't helping him.

Yes my annus horribulous aqua continues - good job I was born on the cusp of Aquarious and Pisces lol.
Wish I could get away for Xmas but will have to save my annual leave for the move back in (but only have to wait until the end of Jan before I have another 4 weeks off somewhere)

Re: A productive evening!
The surveyor for the repair company went to the house on Friday - the insurance company had told him that the house only needed a lick of paint so he needs to 'argue' with them that there is a lot more work required - this usually takes around 4 weeks to reach argeement - that takes us until the fir...

Re: A productive evening!
All my clothes (except those required for next week and those for my holiday) are now all ironed and packed away in vacuum bags along with most of the bedding. You are probably wondering why I would spend time and energy doing this - there are two reasons - last time I went away for 4 weeks I came b...

Pity it doesn't include his wife and is it 8 children we are left to support in their £700K+ five bedroomed house . They might just follow him to the USA to be close to him but doubt they'll want to loose all the benefits etc they have here.

Control L will bring back the Layers toolbox for the other one go to 'Windows' on the top line and select 'New Toolbox' - I think this has everything the original had.
ok that seems ok but the drop down tools option has gone - found it again under Windows - dockable dialogs - tool options

Re: GIMP DISCUSSIONS
Well I've done it - eventually 1) it took ages to find the photo - well I had to look at all the wonderful photos you hae all uploaded. 2) had trouble with the drop down menu but found it in the bottom left corner 3) can't do file - open, the screen appears and I selected the original jpg - all that...

Re: The Flood
Thanks for all the support and kind words. There are times when I feel like screaming at them and putting in complaints. The surveyor/inspector will come at some time to decide if any of the plaster needs to come off and also to decide the best way of dealing with the mould. They have offered a cash...

Re: Armed and dangerous?
True about the comfort but I'd get rid of all those for all prisoners in the first place and make them do hard labour.

Re: Armed and dangerous?
I should really have said assisted suicide as opposed to capital punishment as I don't believe that any one has the right to order another persons death. The 5 years is to give the criminal time to consider his/her options and won't be a knee jerk reaction to a life in prison. The 5 years would star...

Re: Armed and dangerous?
I agree with both Horus and Grandad on all except capital punishment. OK I have one exception to no capital punishment - the criminal should be given the option after serving 5 years to either continue for another 5 years or to ask for capital punishment. And of course life should mean life and for ...
